Intended Schedule:

Day 1 - 13:00

We meet at the parking lot in Göscheneralp and distribute the gear between members. After a gentle start, the hike becomes slightly steeper as we hike right next to the pristine Göscheneralp lake. It takes us approx. 3 hours until we reach the beginning of the Chelen glacier, which requires us to put our crampons on and rope up for added safety. For 2 further hours we hike up in direction Chelenlücke, looking for a crevasse free and flat place to set up base camp, at around 2900 m height. We cook and enjoy a warming expedition style vegetarian dinner.

We stargaze, enjoy the sounds of the glacier and prepare for sliding into our cozy sleeping bags.

Day 2 - 08:00

Early bird catches the worm! After a recharging breakfast and breathtaking views over the valley we dismantle the base camp and rope up again, steering back in direction Göscheneralp lake. We have a snack break on the sides of the lake and tan a little, if the weather allows. Around 13:00 we should reach the parking lot where it all started, which ends our icy adventure

Non-climbers are very welcome to join the adventure, as there is no climbing involved. As well no previous experience in glacier travelling is necessary.

Day 2 - Adventure Extension:

For an additional 200.- CHF it is possible to extend this adventure with 4 additional hours of glacier hiking to arrive at the "Chelenlücke"

(allows for incredible views over the Susten pass!).

Please require this adventure extension in advance.

In this case the adventure will end on the second day around 18:00.
