Intended Schedule:

 

Day 1 - 13:00

From the meeting point we drive up through a forest road towards the starting point. Depending on the number of participants and climbing experience, we will choose a suitable multi-pitch climbing route or climbing crag in such a way that everyone can reach with pleasure the belay station where our portaledge will be set up. 

Non-climbers can reach the overnight point by approaching the spot through a two-hour hike, from where the mountain guide will pick you up for rappelling.

After settling in, we will cook vegetarian climbing food with a breath-taking view and quite a bit of "air" under our feet and will bring the day to an end.

 

Day 2

After the alarm clock we enjoy the first daily sunbeams of canton Uri directly from the wall, and wake up with a "hanging" breakfast. Everything is dismantled and cleared, and we rappel down the entire route again, or get off from the top by finishing climbing the route from the day before.

At the bottom we can do a short multi-pitch climb, tan in the sun or explore the surroundings on foot. Return to the meeting point.

if it's a multi day tour 2 days before it begins (from 17:00)

Material

 

Clothing:

  • Hard shell jacket
  • Soft shell or fleece jacket
  • Spare underwear
  • Climbing pants, t-shirt and sweater
  • Warm clothes for the night
  • Gloves, beanie

 

Miscellaneous:

  • Sunglasses
  • Sun and lip cream, sun hat
  • 2 Water bottles
  • Ev. camera and power bank
  • Sturdy shoes for the approach
  • Backpack (30-50l)

 

Technical equipment:

  • Helmet
  • Climbing shoes (tight but comfortable)
  • Climbing harness
  • Climbing set (3 HMS carabiner, belay/rappel device, 1 set of 6 quickdraws, webbing sling 60 cm, belay station sling, prusik sling, magnesium bag)
  • Other climbing material, if available

 

For the overnight stay:

  • Sleeping bag (Comfort temp. 0°)
  • Sleeping pad or foam pad (Insulated preferably)
  • Cutlery (Fork/Knife/Spoon/Cup/Bowl)
  • Headlamp
  • Toiletries (reduced to the minimum)

 

Catering:

  • Snacks: These will be eaten between breakfast and dinner, so pack enough for the days of the tour. Dried fruit, chocolate, cheese, wholemeal bread and energy bars suit well. To avoid your backpack from being too heavy, try not to bring too much food with you.
  • Half-Board: Vegetarian dinner/breakfast is included in this tour. As a commitment to animal welfare, we do not offer fish/meat. We still try our best to keep the menu as exciting as possible despite logistical difficulties. Please notify us in advance of any special dietary needs.

 

Covid-19 measures:

  • 100ml disinfectant
  • Protective masks (2 per day)

It is mandatory to read the last information about your tour 1 day before the tour starts (from 11am). We will email you at the mentioned time.

Worth knowing:


- The Portaledge can be set up between 5 and 80 meters height, we are happy to customize the location according to your comfort level!

- The Portaledge can be used with or without the upper cover. Depending on the weather conditions, you can decide on its use;

- A Swiss mountain guide will teach you on site how to safely ascend and descend the fixed rope to reach your wall tent;

- Depending on the time of day, we can climb after the set-up if desired.
