Your first 4000 metre peak in the Alps: the Allalinhorn with mountain guide
The Valais Alps, a majestic mountain range that is immortalised on the 20 Swiss franc note, among other things. There are around 82 peaks in Valais that exceed the 4000 metre mark, a real gem for ambitious mountaineers.
About the alpine tour on the Allalinhorn: The normal route begins with the use of the tunnel railway from Mittelallalin and initially leads along the pistes in a south-westerly direction over the glacier to the Feejoch (3,826 m). From there, the trail follows a wide right-hand bend over the ridge to the summit at 4,027 metres.
For the ascent over the Hohlaubgrat ridge, leave the Britannia Hut and initially follow a path in a south-westerly direction before turning right onto the Hohlaub glacier. After a gentle ascent, you reach the block ridge and cross it to finally conquer a steep firn or ice slope. After ascending along this slope, you reach the ridge summit, follow a short descent into a saddle and then ascend again over a steep slope. Finally, you reach the summit structure via the eastern shoulder and three striking steep upswings and finally stand at an altitude of 4,027 metres. A total of 1,050 metres in altitude are covered on this route.
Other recommended ascents lead from the Allalin Pass via the south-west ridge or from the Métro station via the north-east ridge to the summit of the Allalinhorn.

Planned itinerary for the guided Allalinhorn alpine tour
Day 1
We meet at the Allalin cable car in the morning and after the equipment check we “fly” to the Mittelallalin station. The ride is already a unique experience that immerses you in the fascinating world of high alpine glaciers.
Under the guidance of our mountain guide, the trail initially leads us flat across the glacier, later steeper, past majestic Séracs and impressive crevasses up to the Feejoch. Here we take a short break before tackling the last 200 meters of altitude. We treat ourselves to a long rest on the summit and enjoy this special moment. Once at the summit, an unforgettable panorama awaits you with views of the surrounding mountain peaks such as the Dom (4,545 m), the Täschhorn (4,491 m), the Alphubel (4,206 m) and the Rimpfischhorn (4,199 m). The way back follows the ascent route to the mountain station of the cable car, which takes us back down to the valley. From there we return together to Saas Almagell.Allalinhorn high tour.
Day 2
If you wish, we can split the tour into two days and give you a short introduction to mountaineering. Exercises on the glacier with our mountain guide are planned.
