Planned schedule for the Freeride Day in Andermatt
Morning
At the meeting point, we organize our equipment and carry out an avalanche transceiver check. Together we decide which runs we will head for depending on the conditions, avalanche warning level and skiing ability. Among other things, we can take the Gemsstock cable car up to 2963 meters. Once at the top, a first-class playground opens up for ambitious freeriders and experts alike: From the lower and upper Geissberg to the Blauberg couloir, the steep Vorgipfel couloir or the now world-famous “Giraffe”, every freerider will find the right descent here to get their heart racing! We take the first gondola and enjoy a morning full of powder, first tracks and fun.
Afternoon
After a warming tea and snack break, we look for more lines to ride. Our motto is: “First chair, last call!”.
We ride until our legs burn, the area closes or until one of the participants would rather go for a hot chocolate in the hut or a raclette dinner in Andermatt ;).
