Climbing course with a mountain guide: from the crag to the big wall

Whether you’re touching rock for the first time or ready to take on long multi-pitch routes: in our climbing courses you learn outdoors on real rock, with a mountain guide by your side. We climb in Uri, Glarus, Ticino, the Palatinate and near Zurich. The courses run from spring to autumn.

First steps on rock

The rock climbing basic course is a compact introduction to crag climbing. You get more practice time in the two-day beginner climbing course. Other beginner courses take place at especially beautiful spots: at the Lidernen Hut above Lake Lucerne, on the Mettmenalp in Glarus, at the Galerie in Amden near Zurich and in the Alb Valley near Albbruck with 130 routes on compact gneiss.

Learning multi-pitch climbing

The multi-pitch taster course teaches you the basics for your first routes over several pitches. In the beginner multi-pitch course you deepen anchor building and rope handling, while the advanced course prepares you for harder routes. In Ticino, the multi-pitch course at Ponte Brolla lets you practise at the crag first and then climb a long route in the Maggia Valley.

Clean climbing, alpine climbing and big walls

In clean climbing you protect yourself with nuts and cams. Good starting points are the compact clean climbing course and the beginner clean climbing course. In the clean climbing course in the Palatinate you learn to read cracks and place removable gear on historic sandstone. The ridge and alpine climbing course prepares you for alpine routes. In the portaledge and big wall coaching you practise the routines for long walls with a bivouac.

Which climbing course is right for you?

Without prior knowledge, start with a basic rock course. If you already climb at the crag, multi-pitch or clean climbing is the next step. With your new skills you can then tackle one of our guided climbing tours or the climbing holiday in Ticino.
