Requirements

Technique

Ski touring experience

Some experience is an advantage. The tour is adapted to the level of the participants.

Fitness

Endurance

Fitness for ascents of up to 1200 vertical metres per day with a heavy rucksack.

Programme

At the meeting point we organise our equipment and carry out a transceiver check. After applying our skins, we begin the approach towards the first base camp, from where we will decide, depending on the snowpack and weather situation, which summits we will climb and ski in the afternoon and the following day! The approach on the first day takes between 3 and 6 hours, depending on the pace of all participants and the snow conditions. Up to the base camp the ascent is fairly avalanche-safe and steady and involves no major difficulties. We pitch the base camp, have a snack and decide on a suitable afternoon tour so that all participants are at the same level. Occasionally the afternoon tour may include steep steps that have to be tackled with crampons and ice axe, as well as steep slopes on the descent. After experiencing a dream descent we return to the base camp. Nothing stands in the way of a quiet and restful night! We can count shooting stars, eat and drink something warm and make ourselves comfortable in the expedition tents, read a little or chat with our new friends. We let the evening come to a relaxed close.

We fortify ourselves with breakfast and then set off, with dreamlike visibility, towards the next ascent. The summit is again chosen together with all members so that everyone is at the same level. The location of the base camp allows everyone to find the right tour, whether something relaxed and gentle or steep couloirs with steep walls for friends of adrenaline!

After 3 to 6 hours of approach we have reached our objective. Now it is once again time for: skins off and «Send It»!

As soon as we have reached the base camp, everything is packed up and we head back into the valley. The pictures of this incredible micro expedition tour are taken by a professional photographer. That way you can prove to everyone what a truly extraordinary experience you have had!

FAQ

Yes, splitboarders are absolutely welcome on this tour! The tent-based expedition is specifically designed for ski tourers and splitboarders alike. Since we move through untouched and at times demanding terrain, you must have your splitboard firmly under control both on the ascent and on the descents, in all snow conditions.

We are maximally flexible. In order to offer you the best possible adventure, we choose the area in advance depending on the current snow situation and the skiing ability of the group. Possible regions in the heart of Switzerland are the Urserental, the Sustenpass, the Klausenpass area, the Muotatal, the Erstfelder Tal or the Furkapass. We agree on the exact objective and the summits together as a team on site.

Since we spend the night in the middle of the snow at over 2’000 metres, it gets bitterly cold at night. You absolutely need a very warm winter sleeping bag with a comfort range of -10 °C to -25 °C as well as a strongly insulating sleeping mat (or a combination of two mats).

Half board at the camp is included in the price. Out of commitment to animal welfare we do without meat and fish entirely. Instead, look forward to a warming, vegetarian base camp fondue straight from the gas stove under the starry sky. We also prepare breakfast together. You bring your own personal snacks (bars, dried fruit, chocolate etc.) for during the day.
