Multiday ski tour – Urner Haute Route
The Urner Haute Route is one of the most important multi-day ski tours of the snow Eldorado Central Switzerland. Developed in the 80s by several mountain guides from Uri, it connects Andermatt with Engelberg and stretches over 11,000 hm and 46 km in length. The Urner Haute Route runs through the cantons of Uri, Bern and Obwalden and is nowadays also called “The Skiers Haute Route” in the mountain guide scene, and for good reason!
The 5-day ski tour in Switzerland includes short yet steep ascents (mostly sunny side), with long and deep snow descents (north side). The perfect recipe for a dream tour! Several huts are located on the tour and serve as a base for the 4 planned overnight stays: the Albert-Heim hut, the Chelenalp hut, the Alpin Center Sustenpass and finally the Sustli hut, just before the final highlight: an 1800 hm deep-snow descent over the Firnalpeli glacier, with a view of the mighty Titlis south face. The tour can be adapted with further overnight stays depending on the weather and the fitness of the participants.
Some peaks we will summit during our tour:
Lochberg (3074m) ,Sustenlimi (3089m), Sustenhorn (3502m), Fünfigerstöcken (2993m), Grassen (2946m)
