Ararat Climb 5135 m – Your first giant in beautiful Anatolia

An Ararat climb represents an incredible adventure and is best suited as a “taster” high-altitude mountaineering for hikers with stamina. Mount Ararat is part of the Ararat Mountains, which straddle the border between Turkey and Armenia. The mountains offer an impressive backdrop of more peaks, deep valleys and spectacular gorges. When the weather is fine, long-distance views to Armenia and Iranian Kurdistan are possible.

Very important is the biblical significance of this mountain. There is a strong connection to the story of Noah’s Ark. Many people visit the region hoping to find evidence of the Ark’s existence or its remains. In fact, historical and biblical writings indicate that Noah’s Ark is trapped in the glacier. Annually, different expeditions take place in search of remains of it.

Due to the geographical location between Turkey and Armenia, the surroundings of Mount Ararat also offer opportunities for cultural exchange and meetings between the two countries. This can lead to a better understanding and rapprochement between the cultures. Thus, an Ararat climb is not only an adventurous and sporting endeavor, but also a journey into a fascinating country marked by cultural, biblical and scenic delights.
