Intended Schedule:

Day 1 - 07:00

We meet at the parking place of the Schattdorf cable car and distribute the gear between members. We take the cable car to reach the plateau of Haldi. After a gentle start, the hike becomes quite steep as we approach the Via Ferrata, a very exposed but well secured climb! We climb for 330 vertical meters before passing the famous "Bälmetentor" and reaching the top of Bälmeten (2415 m). The views are incredible and reach far below to the Urner valley and to the "lapis lazuli" lake of Lucerne.

If you don't want to climb the Via Ferrata, we can reach the peak of Bälmeten through a non-exposed and less steep T3 hiking path. Please let us know in advance if you desire to avoid the Via Ferrata.

12:00

Time for a break! We enjoy the views and eat a snack brought from home. We need some energy, as the hiking continues in the direction of Hoch Fulen

(2506 m), the second peak we are going to ascend during our tour.

As we descend in direction Griesstal, we will pass several small alpine lakes: this is where our base camp will be set up and where we will spend the night.

We cook and enjoy a warming vegetarian camp-style dinner together, can relax and dip our boiling feet in the water, stargaze or just enjoy the silence that only the beautiful Urner alps are able to offer. Finally, we get ready to slide into our cozy sleeping bags and enjoy a recharging sleep.

Day 2 - 08:00

Early bird catches the worm! After an energizing breakfast we will have to hike uphill for 2-3 more hours before reaching the pristine and heavenly Seewlisee, nestled behind the Gross Windgällen.

12:00

We enjoy a snack break before beginning a long and steep descent to the cable car that runs to Silenen, which is an old school and very tiny mean of transport.

Once in Silenen, we take the bus that will bring us back to the starting point in Schattdorf at the cable car parking lot. End of the adventure around 18:00.
